Call for Abstracts For Conference on Yoga Pedagogy | Exploration of Texts, Traditions and Practice

Note: If you are submitting an abstract, you are eligible to attend both the pre-conference paper presentation (on 27th) and the conference (on 29th and 30th).
The KYM invites abstracts for paper presentation as part of the Conference on ‘Yoga Pedagogy | Texts, Traditions and Practice.’
Authors of the selected abstracts will be given a chance to present their paper at the pre-conference event to be held on Thursday, March 27, 2024 at the KYM premises. Paper presentations will be in person for the residents of Chennai and online for those residing outside Chennai. All authors will be issued a Certificate of Participation by the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. The KYM may upload presentations of select papers on its social media handle.
Theme For Abstract Submission
Original abstracts are invited from students, Yoga teachers, therapists and other professionals on topics related to Yoga studies, teaching and applications, including but not limited to:
- Traditional and contemporary approaches to Yoga learning/teaching/practice/therapy
- Innovations in methodology for Yoga teaching and/or therapy
- Yoga practices for wellness
- Outcomes from Yoga activities in campuses and outreach
- Yoga therapy interventions and outcomes in specific health conditions and overall care seeker experience.
- New avenues for application of Yoga principles in school and adult education, and in individual and public health
Instructions for Sending the Abstracts
- The submitted abstracts must summarize research on the themes mentioned above, written in English, reflecting original thoughts and systematic research activities.
- The abstract should not have been previously published in any other forum/publication or under review.
- Submission to be done in a single MS Word document sent via email to yogaresearch@kym.org with “Yoga Pedagogy Abstract Submission” in the subject line.
- Title of the abstract should be under 200 characters.
- Author details should include Author name(s), institutional affiliations and designations, email and it should also indicate the presenting author.
- The abstract should be under 250 words, excluding references.
- Provide a list of keywords (3 to 5).
- Acknowledge assistance by Artificial-Intelligence-based tools if used.
- Due date for Abstract submission | 10th March 2024
- Abstracts will be rated on academic rigour, originality and relevance to topic.
Payment For Abstract Submission
Registration and a payment of Rs. 1,400 per submission is mandatory for abstract submission.
