Among the Vaidika Darśana-s, Sāṁkhya and Yoga form an unique pair, anchored upon a foundation of puruṣa–prakṛti tattva (dualism). The Yogasūtra worldview builds up on the epistemological foundations of Sāṁkhya, applying these principles to its nuanced analysis of the human mind.
While the original Sāṁkhya Sūtra-s are lost, we have Īśvarakṛṣṇa’s Sāṁkhya Kārikā available as a base text. Important commentaries to Sāṁkhya-kārikā include Gauḍapāda’s Bhāṣya, Vācaspati Miśra’s Tattva Kaumudī and the Yukti Dīpikā, an anonymous commentary, apart from the distilled teaching of Svāmī Hariharānanda Āraṇya through Kapila Maṭha.
KYM brings to you an immersive study of Sāṁkhya through the Kārikā and its commentaries, also highlighting the interconnections of Sāṁkhya principles to Yogasūtra concepts.
