Individual-centric Yoga Practice to Manage Lower Back Pain

Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram announces a Yoga Therapy Programme focusing on the management of lower back pain and related conditions.

Yoga therapy is, at its core, a safe and self-empowering practice. Rather than applying a standardised solution to a diagnosis, it works gradually and specifically within each individual’s own capacity by building strength, body awareness and resilience without strain or risk of aggravation. Because the practice is shaped around the person rather than the condition alone, it places the student at the centre of their own healing process, equipping them with tools and self-awareness they can continue to draw on independently, well beyond the duration of the programme itself.

This programme focuses on a Yoga therapy-based approach to manage lower back pain, sciatica, disc-related issues, postural imbalances and other musculoskeletal conditions and their associated symptoms, such as stiffness, restricted mobility, sleeplessness and anxiety etc.,

Various tools of Yoga such as Āsana sequences tailored to the student’s needs and abilities, techniques of breath regulation, visualisation and the use of chants where appropriate will be integrated into each individual course plan. The consultant may also prescribe appropriate diet and lifestyle modifications.

This programme is offered entirely on a one-on-one basis, ensuring that each course plan is closely tailored to the student’s specific conditions and needs.

The therapy process comprises of:

  • One consultation with a senior Yoga therapy consultant (offered one-on-one).*
  • Eight one-on-one classes with the assigned Yoga therapist (offered one-on-one). These eight sessions will be fixed based on the requirement and convenience of the care-seeker.*
  • A group session with an Āyurvedic Vaidya to facilitate long-term management of health (offered online).

*This programme is offered both online and at the KYM, Mandaveli premises.

Consultations may be scheduled between 1st October and 30th November, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
