The study of Yoga is one that is replete with symbolism, with deep and powerful techniques being presented within the framework of symbols, metaphors and similies.
While at a practical level, the tools of Yoga have direct and tangible physical, physiological and psychological benefits, it is equally fascinating to understand how and why the fundamental practices of Yoga relate to Yogic symbols and how these very symbols serve as guides to deepen our practice by working at a subtle dimension on the Sūkṣma Śarīra.
Weaving together insights from modern medicine, anthroposophy and Āyurveda, this course will explore subtle anatomy and its impact on physiology through a study of the symbols, similies and metaphors that are commonly used in Yoga and Āyurveda literature. The lectures will also be supported with guided practices drawing upon the lectures. The faculty anchoring this programme will be Nrithya Jagannathan, Dr. Karthiyayani Mahadevan, Dr. Madhumitha Krishnan and Śrī Arul Perumal.
Video recordings will be made available for a limited period to all registered participants, the schedule of which will be shared.
