KYM brings to you Module – 4 of Sūtra Sojourns – a webinar based immersion into the Yogasūtra, this time focusing on Chapter – 4 (Kaivalya-pāda of Yogasūtra) of the text. This webinar is open to all those who are interested in going deeper into the Yogasūtra in a structured manner.

At the very heart of Yoga practice and application of  Yogic tools, lies the timeless teachings of  Patañjali in the  Yogasūtra.  With every Sūtra offering so much scope for contemplation, the text itself is a valuable treatise on the workings of the human mind and the necessity for mental and emotional balance, above all else. The  Yogasūtra was also the foundation upon which both  Śrī  T Krishnamacharya and  Śrī  TKV Desikachar built up their teachings, and a study of the  Yogasūtra  can be an insightful and transformative experience for  Yoga enthusiasts and others as well.

This four-part webinar series, “Sūtra Sojourns,” has been designed with the intention of delving into the  Yogasūtra, through the teachings of  Śrī  T Krishnamacharya and  Śrī  Desikachar, while also drawing upon the insights provided in the commentary of  Vyāsa and other major commentaries and sub-commentaries. Where necessary, cross references to other texts such as  Taittirīya  Upaniṣad,  Praśna  Upaniṣad,  Chāndogya  Upaniṣad,  Bhagavadgītā, Haṭha-yoga-pradīpikā, Yoga-yajñavālkya-saṁhita, Yoga  Rahasya,  Yogañjalisāram and  Dhyānamālika  will be made.

This present module will take participants through a detailed immersive study of chapter 4 – Kaivalyapādaḥ.

The registered participants will get access to view the class recordings for the duration of the course. Schedule of such uploads will be shared later. Class notes will be made accessible to all registered participants.

This webinar series will be anchored by Nrithya Jagannathan, Director, KYM Institute of Yoga Studies.

Participants in this programme will be eligible for Yoga Alliance credits.
