Vedic Chanting is an ancient oral tradition of India that dates back several thousand years. The Vedas are a collection of hymns on a vast range of subjects that were heard by the sages of yore when they were in a profound state of meditation. Passed on orally from one generation of teachers to the next, the Vedas were for a long time chanted only by a select few. It was T Krishnamacharya who first threw open the doors of Vedic chanting to the world, making it accessible to all those who were interested in learning and preserving this tradition. It was Krishnamacharya's conviction about Vedic Chanting as a universal tool for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth, that led to the inception of Vedavani in 1999.
At Vedavani, Vedic chanting is taught to individuals and groups with the emphasis on adhering to the rules and pedagogy of chanting.
