2006 marks the thirtieth anniversary of Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. TKV Desikachar founded the KYM in 1976 so that he could share with the world the healing legacy of T Krishnmacharya, his father and teacher. What began as one man's dream with a corpus of Rs. 2000 ( approximately fifty Euros) is today ranked internationally as among the premier institutes of yoga. To celebrate this happy occasion and acknowledge with gratitude TKV Desikachar's outstanding contribution to the world of yoga, a special commemorative issue titled, " TKV Desikachar - A Tribute" was released at London on 31st March 2006. This tribute was made possible through the generous support of students and well- wishers from around the world. The response we received to our request was tremendous and stands as a testament to the strong connections that have been formed by TKV Desikachar and KYM with the community they serve and the many friends they have made. |
