Padmini suffered
such severe attacks of asthma that even breathing required an effort. Her
sustained practice of yoga and her faith in her teacher at Krishnamacharya
Yoga Mandiram(KYM) have changed her life. Today she is herself a teacher of
yoga and vedic chanting at KYM, healing so many others.
Sindhu, an eight year old child went into severe depression following the trauma of her
parents’ divorce. She simply could not smile. Today, after her interaction
with her teacher at KYM, she is like any child her age, laughing, playing and
enjoying life.
These are but two of the thousand of people who have walked through the doors of Krishnamacharya
Yoga Mandram (KYM), Chennai, India, in the course of the last twenty eight
years in search of healing. Thus far, KYM has been functioning from rented
premises. Now, as KYM faces new challenges in terms of increasing number of students and lack of space to accommodate them, we have to
seriously consider moving to a larger place we can truly call ‘home’.
Lend a hand to help us build a home for healing. A little more compassion, a little less suffering,
a little more empathy, a little less pain – that is what you will be
enabling. Here’s how…
Facilitating Dreams
The projected cost for the construction of the new building is estimated at around
US$ 750,000. KYM being a
non-profit public charitable trust, does not possess a corpus that will fund this construction.
Unless supported by wellwishers like you, these dreams
will merely remain part of KYM wish list, rather than becoming a reality.
Little Drops Make an Ocean
This is where we seek the support of large-hearted
well-wishers and friends of KYM who have been such pillars of support
throughout our journey.
A simple commitment
of resources within your capacity will go a long way in supporting and
sustaining KYM’s activities, enabling us to serve you better. Any
donation that you make will be accepted graciously.
