| Training Program for
School teachers |

A month-long yoga
program for training school teachers from all over Tamilnadu
was held in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National
Institute of Yoga, New Delhi. This is part of an initiative
taken by the Department of AYUSH, Government of India to
propagate yoga and bring it within the fold of the modern-day
education curriculum. Teachers from 30 districts in Tamilnadu
were deputed by the State Department of education to attend
this training program. A two-hundred hour syllabus covering
a wide range of practical and theoretical study was taught.
Feedback from the participants has been very encouraging
and KYM will shortly undertake similar programs for teachers
from other states as well.
