YOGA FOR
CHILDREN
Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, since its inception in 1976
has focused on customizing the practice of yoga to suit
different target groups. In this context, T Krishnamacharya,
as the head of the Yoga School at the Mysore Palace in the
late 1930’s, pioneered the teaching of yoga to suit the
needs of children. Through a series of dynamic and vigorous
practices that included several challenging postures, he
focused on enhancing energy and stamina, sharpening attention
and concentration, improving fitness and flexibility and
stimulating growth and wellbeing. Nearly eight decades later,
the KYM through its Outreach division continues to offer
similar yoga programs for children.
Whether you wish to expose your child to a holistic system
of health and fitness, whether you wish your child had greater
endurance and resistance against common illnesses, whether
you want your child to think and act with confidence and
clarity, yoga is the answer.
KYM-Outreach presents a series of yoga programs, targeted
exclusively at children between the ages of 7 and 17.
