KYM has an active teaching staff of over fifty teachers all of whom have undergone an intensive two-year teacher-training diploma. Under the guidance of our founder TKV Desikachar, our Managing Trustee, S.Sridharan and our executive Trustee, Kausthub Desikachar, the faculty of KYM undergo continuing education in yoga. Apart from the study of the theoretical foundations of yoga and healing, faculty are also required to give an average of at least thirty therapy classes every month. Observation of classes given by senior teachers and therapists is also an ongoing practical experience in yoga therapy.
