Health and Yoga – An Introduction

An introductory program that promotes an awareness of the multiple benefits of yoga through simple practices of postures and breathing techniques. Also included are informative lectures and interactive sessions.

Health and Wellbeing Program

This program aims at progressively introducing participants to a series of simple yoga practices comprising asanas, pranayama and relaxation techniques with the focus on enhancing their general wellbeing, improving stamina and boosting self-confidence.Included in this program are invigorating asana, pranayama and chanting practices apart from interesting interactive sessions.

From “Distressed” To “De-stressed”- a stress management program

Inability to handle work stress and still maintain a balanced personal life is increasingly contributing to the development of stress-induced diseases that in the long run affect not just the individual but the organization as well. This program focuses on gentle guided practices of asanas and pranayama keeping in mind the needs of the participants. Incorporation of reflective visualization techniques and meditative practices reduce distress and help participants manage stress better.

Fitness Redefined

This is a fitness intensive yoga program targeted specifically at fitness enthusiasts. Across a span of 24 to 36 classes, participants will be taught a series of challenging and dynamic asana practices that consolidate the effects of aerobics, jogging, gym work outs and more. The focus will be on brisk workouts that strengthen and tone the entire body, relieve muscular tension, enhance flexibility, stimulate physiological activities through energizing breathing practices and enable mental clarity and confidence.

Empowering from within – Pranayama and Meditation Programs

Yoga, contrary to popular belief is not about the practice of postures alone. As much if not more important are the techniques of pranayama and meditation. When practiced under competent guidance, both pranayama and meditation can contribute significantly towards reducing mental agitation and promoting a sense of peace and stillness, not just in the body but in the mind as well. These two programs help participants rediscover and empower themselves from within.

Yoga for Children

Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, since its inception in 1976 has focused on customizing the practice of yoga to suit different target groups. In this context, T Krishnamacharya, as the head of the Yoga School at the Mysore Palace in the late 1930’s, pioneered the teaching of yoga to suit the needs of children. Through a series of dynamic and vigorous practices that included several challenging postures, he focused on enhancing energy and stamina, sharpening attention and concentration, improving fitness and flexibility and stimulating growth and wellbeing. Nearly eight decades later, the KYM through its Outreach division continues to offer similar yoga programs for children.

Whether you wish to expose your child to a holistic system of health and fitness, whether you wish your child had greater endurance and resistance against common illnesses, whether you want your child to think and act with confidence and clarity, yoga is the answer.

KYM – Outreach presents a series of yoga programs, targeted exclusively at children between the ages of 7 and 17.

Tough as a Diamond – strengthening body and mind through yoga

As part of this program, classes are held every Saturday for thirty weeks from June to February.

Three batches are offered – the introductory, intermediary and advanced levels. Each of these certificate programs provides your child an opportunity to rediscover himself or herself through yoga. Interactive fun-filled sessions taught by a team of committed faculty and the group learning opportunities make for a positive and highly enjoyable, yet educative experience.

The Summer Yoga Program

KYM – Outreach offers summer camps in April and May of every year for children and adolescents. Ten sessions will be offered across a two-week period in April and May.

Designed for hard-core fitness enthusiasts, this program focuses on toning the body, improving stamina, enhancing flexibility and enabling weight reduction.

This program features powerful yoga practices that focus on incorporating a wide range of postures and dynamic movement sequences known as vinyasa.

Getaway Yoga Packages

The demands of modern-day living inevitably require us to multitask. Often, with tough deadlines looming up ahead, our professional lives are a race against time. So much so that any chance of a tiny window for self-care is often ignored. While one needs to be alert and on one’s feet to keep up with modern-day challenges, taking a break, even a short one, can do wonders to enhance one’s productivity and efficiency. It is with this goal in mind that KYM – Outreach announces yoga breaks – a quick getaway program that brings back a new you. Give yourself a tiny break for self-care. Return with renewed energy and the zest to make you truly carefree at work and otherwise.

A Pause… for Self Care – The Refresher

A one-day program designed to pep you up and refresh you physically, mentally and emotionally. This program gives participants a simple and yet powerful experience of simple postures, breathing and visualization techniques designed to reduce stress and promote mental agility, apart from a brief orientation to the role of yoga in our daily lives.

This one-day program is offered in an around Chennai, at Kovalam, Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. Apart from the yoga sessions, there will be other fun-filled activities that are designed to reduce mental fatigue and prepare you to get back to work with renewed energy. Return Renewed – The Retreat

A broad-based experience of a comprehensive yoga practices spread over 8 hours across three days. The focus, apart from giving the participants a chance to truly relax, will be on the systematic structuring of asana and pranayama(breathing) practices that respect every participant’s needs and abilities. A general orientation to yoga and meditation will also be given with guidance on how to integrate a comprehensive yoga practice into the hustle and bustle of daily life. Apart from the scheduled yoga sessions, participants will be given enough time for personal recreation, group activities, rest and relaxation making this experience a positive retreat in every sense of the word.

This three day program can be offered at Ooty, Kodaikkanal, Yercaud, Yelagiri aand Pondicherry and also at other similar resort towns that provide a soothing, yet strengthening ambience. A Journey from Stress to strength – The Rejuvenation

In the stress-filled corporate world, there are no doubt a million things you wish you could change. The fact that you cannot, simply makes your stress levels sky-rocket.
